A New Deck: Mga Baraha

I’ve always had a fascination for board games and playing cards. It’s always been a dream to create my own. After working on the #nofilter oracle deck, #nofilter Woowoo deck, and Ang Iyong Gabay, I still had this nagging feeling that I had to revisit the basics.

I started working on the concept pre-lockdown, and was hesitant to release anything during these crazy times. BUT, after a whole lot of muni-muni, I just went ahead and did it. I mean, if not now, then when?

So the concept was to start with a basic deck of cards, then play around with the colors, shapes and design. That resulted in this discrete deck of cards, with Filipino words and simple symbolic imagery. It’s a mix of Tarot, Oracle and Playing Cards. The gold gilded edge was a splurge I just knew I had to have.
