Ascend
To say this year was different would be an understatement. I chose the word Ascend to guide me through it, and maybe I did, just not in the ways I expected.
Not by doing more, but by moving differently. I learned how to live inside a season that didn’t give me full control of my time or energy, and still find my footing. I dealt with my body being unreliable, plans shifting, and having to pace myself in ways I wasn’t used to. Instead of fighting it the whole way through, I adjusted. Let go of what no longer fit. Shed what I couldn’t carry forward.
I showed up where I could. Followed through even when it would’ve been easier to disengage. Chose grace over friction more times than anyone will ever know. Took responsibility where it mattered, not to keep the peace, but because it felt right to me. And I finished things. Real things. Work I kept quiet. Progress only I witnessed.
I feel steadier now. Clearer about who and what deserves my time, and what doesn’t. More comfortable trusting that growth doesn’t need to be seen.
If this is what ascend looks like for me, I’m good with that. Thank you for being a great teacher, 2025.
