Good move, Mikko!

It just occurred to me that it’s been 15 years since I moved to the Philippines. Came here with a plan, which promptly became a different plan, then another, then a whole string of eras I didn’t see coming. I only ever had myself to count on for most of it. But I also found people here who showed up for all of it, the versions of me that made sense and the ones that maybe didn’t.

People who check on me even when I didn’t know I needed them to, attend every recital and mall event, buy everything I make, and will engineer an impromptu dinner just to make sure I actually eat. This is home. 15 years in, I get to say: good move, Mikko.
