Book Alert: Nature Art Workshop
Hi everyone! I know the site has been quiet this year, but I’m back (at least for a bit) and I come bearing great news. I co-wrote a book! I’ve been teasing a lot of pressed flowers photos on @mikkomix the past couple months. Most of the photos were a peek behind the scenes, as I was shooting tutorials for Nature Art Workshop!
Nature Art Workshop is a visual resource for any artist or crafter desiring to combine their artistic talents with their love of the natural world. Four talented visual nature artists guide readers through finding and prepping traditional media and natural elements to use in creating fun and unique nature-inspired projects following simple step-by-step instructions. Projects include a pressed-flower ceramic dish, fresh floral crown, and flower-adorned candles, in addition to painted feathers, stones, shells, leaves, and more. The launch of the book perfectly timed with my visit to Alaska. I took advantage and offered a free Pressed Flowers workshop at my old stomping grounds, the UAA Bookstore. I brought flowers from our personal stash, and we (me and my Mom) taught the participants how to make their own pressed flower necklaces.
It was a great day of crafting. My heart was so, so full. I was so happy that family, friends, and new friends all came to celebrate Nature Art Workshop‘s launch with me.
